Horse riding
Throughout South Africa, many establishments offer horse riding as an activity. Many cater for all levels of experience, from short pony rides suitable for children to challenging multi-day trails.
Popular horse-trail areas include the foothills of the Drakensberg in KwaZulu-Natal; beach rides in the Western Cape; and multi-day trails in the farmlands of the scenic eastern Free State, also the heart of the endurance riding community.
If your clients are keen riders, they might consider booking a multi-day beach-riding holiday on the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, or an outing that traverses the unique fynbos environment close to the southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas in the Western Cape.
Before signing up for any horse-riding activity, advise clients to find out what level of experience is required and to rather err on the side of caution if they’re not completely comfortable in the saddle.
