Welcome to South Africa!

You’ll find our sunny country, which is roughly the size of Texas, or Spain and France combined, at the very southern tip of Africa. This makes for an entirely unique location: bordered by the Indian Ocean on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, both meet at the country’s southernmost tip, Cape Agulhas – one of the only places in the world where you’ll encounter this phenomenon.

While South Africa is proud to be part of the rapidly growing African continent, it has a very distinct character, thanks to the many different cultures that call this country home. These cultures all come together to create a country known for its warm hospitality and friendliness.

That’s just one of the many attributes that makes South Africa a special destination for tourists. It also boasts a warm climate, excellent infrastructure, and an array of landscapes so vast it offers practically any experience you can think of: picture white sand beaches, dynamic cities, dramatic mountain ranges, fairytale-like forests, historic battlefields, chocolate-box villages and, of course, our magnificent bushveld areas, teeming with plains game, majestic big cats, the thrilling Big Five and wonderful birdlife.
